Effective July 13, 2010 - Passport Fees Increased
As of June 1, 2009 Passports or Passport Cards are required for ALL travel outside the United States, including Canada and Mexico.

Passport Photos are available in the Clerk's Office for $15.
Children under 16 do not need a passport to drive across the border of Mexico or Canada. Children 16-18 traveling with a Group do not need a Passport. Groups of U.S. Children ages 16 through 18, when traveling with a school or religious group, social organization, or sports team, will be able to enter under adult supervision with certified copies of their birth certificates or other proof of citizenship. HOW TO APPLY FOR A PASSPORT
1. COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM. These can be obtained from our office,
most post office locations or online.

2. PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP – A CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE (or birth card)
issued by Department of Vital Statistics, a previously issued passport, or a
Certificate of Naturalization. Children under 16 must provide a Birth
Certificate. Click

3. Two (2) IDENTICAL PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS - taken within the last six months.
Photo size 2” x 2”, taken against a plain white or off-white background. Click

Digital Photographs. Get them taken in our office for an extra $15.
4. CURRENT IDENTIFICATION – Such as a Driver’s License (not a learning permit) or other acceptable I.D. Refer to reverse side of passport
application.
Children under 16 have Special

5.ALLOW 4-6 WEEKS PROCESSING TIME. Apply early to avoid delay in the issuance of your passport. If you are in a hurry, expedited passports can be received in 2-3 weeks, the expedite fee is an additional $60. You can obtain a passport in just 14 days if you have a copy of your itinerary and pay the $60 expedite fee. Those who need quicker service, may make an appointment directly with the nearest Passport Agency. You must have a proof of urgent travel in the form of airline tickets or an official itinerary. 6. Passport Renewal/Passport by Mail - If you already have a passport or old expired passport you may be able to apply through the mail for a new one. If your passport was issued less than 15 years ago and you were over 16 at the time of issue, you can get a passport by mail. Click HERE for Passport by mail application and instructions.

GREAT NEWS! You can now apply for the new Passport Card. It is less expensive than a Passport Book but is only valid for travel by land or sea between Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. The card may not be used to travel by air. It will otherwise carry the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book.
PROCESSING TIMES Currently routine Passports are taking 4-6 weeks to process, however passport processing times are constantly changing. For the most updated information follow this link to the US State Department's Passport Page.
