HOW TO APPLY FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE:

  1. Complete the Marriage Application by following this link: On-Line Marriage Application
  2. E-mail copies of photo IDs for both parties to clerk@tillamookcounty.gov
  3. Pay $50 Fee.  Once photo IDs are received, we will email you a link to make your payment.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • Both the parties must be at least 18 years of age (or 17 if accompanied by a parent who will sign a consent form).
  • Both applicants must provide copy of a driver's license or other photo ID card for identification.
  • The fee for the marriage license is $50,00 
  • There is a 3-day waiting period before the license becomes effective. However, the waiting period can be waived by filling out an additional form and paying an extra $10 fee, making the license effective immediately.
  • The license is good for 60 days and blood tests are not required.
  • The license can be used in any county in the State of Oregon.
  • These fees do not include any type of wedding ceremony.
  • You will need to make an appointment with the person who will perform your ceremony.
  • You may need to contact Oregon State Parks & Recreation for a permit for a wedding on the beach at 503-986-0707
  • After your marriage you can obtain an certified copy.  The copy fee is  $7.75. (Request for certified copy of Marriage License form)
  • Oregon State Law does not allow a marriage license to be issued to parties that are first cousins or nearer kin.
  • You will need two (2) witnesses, at least 18 years of age, at your ceremony.

Important Note: Tillamook County interprets ORS 106.150 "in the presence of" to mean the couple, officiant, and two witnesses must be physically present in the same room, without the use of any electronic means such as Skype, Zoom or telephone, throughout the ceremony.
