Tillamook County Sheriff - Former Sheriff's - 1854 to Current

Sheriff Obed S. Thomas

Served from: 1854-1855

He was appointed in April 1954 to serve as the first Sheriff of Tillamook county a few months after the new county was formed from Yamhill and Clatsop counties on December 15, 1953. Thomas, a New York native, came to Oregon 10 years before he began serving as Tillamook Sheriff. Thomas was a farmer and later opened a sawmill in Tillamook Landing.
