
Justice of the Peace Neal C. Lemery has been a lawyer since 1980. He was elected Justice of the Peace in 2000, and re-elected in 2006.
He is also the municipal judge for the City of Cannon Beach and previously was the municipal judge for the cities of Tillamook, Garibaldi, Rockaway Beach, and Astoria.
Judge Lemery is the chair of the legislative committee of the Oregon Justices of the Peace Association (OJPA), and is past president of the association. He is also the OJPA representative on the Oregon Attorney General's restitution reform task force.
As a lawyer, he also served as the elected District Attorney for Tillamook County (1986-1990), county counsel for Tillamook County, and legal counsel for a number of water and sewer districts and the Tillamook Bay Community College. He is now a board member of the Tillamook Bay Community College Foundation.
He has also served on the board and as president of the Tillamook County YMCA, and was president of the Oregon YMCAs.
He has also been elected to three terms on the Neah-Kah-Nie School Board and served as board chair for four years.
Judge Lemery is a fourth generation Tillamook County resident, and is a graduate of Tillamook High School. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis and Clark College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Willamette University. His family have been dairy farmers in Tillamook County for three generations and his father was a Tillamook physician.
