The Justice of the Peace can perform weddings. The bride and groom need to first obtain a marriage license from any county clerk in Oregon. There is normally a three day waiting period, but the clerk can waive that period. A license is valid for sixty days. The Tillamook County Clerk's fee is $50. Other county clerks may have different fees.
Weddings in the courthouse can be scheduled by calling the court, (503)842-3416. The court has no wedding fee. However, the Court requires a $50 refundable scheduling deposit. If the wedding is cancelled more than 24 hours in advance, or the parties appear for the wedding, the $50 will be refunded. The $50 must be in the form of cash, money order, or a cashier's check.
Weddings on weekends can be scheduled with the Justice of the Peace, and there is a $100 charge for those weddings, as well as the $50 scheduling deposit. The $100 fee must be in cash and is payable at the time the wedding is scheduled.
The bride and groom need to have two witnesses for the ceremony, and the witnesses need to be at least 18 years of age.
Feel free to bring your camera and flowers.
Licenses are available from the County Clerk
Oregon has now implemented a Domestic Partnership registry for same sex couples. The registration form, which is to be filed with the County Clerk, is available on line: Domestic Partnership Form.
