Sandlake Recreation Area

The Sandlake Recreation Area in south Tillamook County is a popular ATV recreation area. 

The area is owned and managed by the US Forest Service, Tillamook County, and the State of Oregon.  The ocean beach is a state park and is considered a highway for purposes of operating ATVs.

Sandlake Recreation Area is a no alcohol area for everyone.  The base fine for this violation is $260. 

The rules of the road in the Oregon Motor Vehicle Code apply to ALL areas of Sandlake RA, including speed laws, equipment laws, and traffic rules. 

The state speed limit on the ocean beach is 25 mph. 

All ATV drivers 16 years of age and older must have a valid driver's license and insurance proof.  All riders under age 18 must wear helmets.Oregon State ATV Information

The area is patrolled by the Tillamook County Sheriff's Dept. and the US Forest Service.  These officers enforce both state and federal laws. 

Rules for Sandlake are posted at all campgrounds and parking lots.  Read them carefully!
